Glebar Company Moves Headquarters to Ramsey, N.J. to Accommodate Rapid Growth and Business Expansion

RAMSEY, N.J., July 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- After more than 60 years and occupying three locations in Franklin Lakes, N.J., Glebar Company has consolidated its plants and office into a larger, fully integrated, state-of-the-art headquarters and manufacturing facility in nearby Ramsey.

Glebar is an innovative engineering and manufacturing firm specializing in precision grinding systems used to manufacture parts for a wide range of industries and applications from medical guidewires to titanium aerospace fasteners.

Its new 44,560-square-foot facility features LED lighting, updated power systems and eco-friendly features to reduce energy consumption. The close proximity of engineering, application and production groups will encourage further employee collaboration and reduce lead times of its machine systems and aftermarket parts. The move was prompted by significant domestic business growth and international expansion over the last two years, triggering a 68 percent increase in the company's headcount. The larger facility accommodates all of the company's employees and operations under one roof.

"After six decades, rapid short term growth and plans for continued expansion, we simply outgrew our current facilities," said Adam Cook, CEO, Glebar. "The new building's open layout allows us to better streamline our processes, implement automation and lean manufacturing, control costs for both Glebar and our customers and reduce lead times.  The facility also provides our employees with a great environment in which to work. Our customers will benefit from a new and improved total customer experience, from three private customer machine check-out rooms to a state-of-the-art grind shop that showcases all of our products and their capabilities."

Other features of the new Ramsey headquarters include:

  • new manufacturing and inspection equipment incorporating the latest technologies and capabilities;
  • network drops to all production machines to improve the management of production flow;
  • high ceilings allowing maximum space utilization and improved inventory control; and
  • numerous conference rooms for customer and employee collaboration.

"We have been committed to technological innovations and to providing solutions to our customers since our inception," said Robert Gleason, vice president of Engineering at Glebar Company, whose father was a founder of the company in 1952.  "Moving our dedicated team to the new building opens up a whole new chapter in the history of Glebar and allows us to push the envelope even further in introducing new products and solutions."

"We've invested millions of dollars in new capital equipment, automation and facility improvements in order to create a world class manufacturing facility for our employees and customers," said John Bannayan, president, Glebar Company.  "It will allow us to meet our increased demand and keep our costs and pricing in line."

Glebar's new headquarters is located at 565 East Crescent Avenue, Ramsey, in Bergen County, New Jersey. The company is planning an open house for sometime in the fall.
