Legrand Case History

Feintuch Communications’ 10-year association with Legrand, a global leader in AV infrastructure, networking and digital systems, began in 2009. That’s when Roher Public Relations (acquired by Feintuch Communications in 2015) was hired by home audio system company NuVo Technologies to support the launch of the company’s signature Player Portfolio wireless multi-room audio system. When NuVo was purchased by Legrand in 2012, Roher’s role was expanded to include Legrand’s On-Q home automation and structured wiring brand.  

Over the decade, Feintuch and Roher were charged with announcing dozens of products for the two lines under the Legrand umbrella, for which comprehensive PR campaigns were employed that consisted of targeted media relations, as well as thought leadership activities such as Legrand executive interviews and byline articles, end-user case studies, social media programming, and an industry award program.  

Among the more significant launches was Intuity, a comprehensive home automation system – encompassing a modular system of security, lighting, entertainment, and climate control elements and using an iPad as its central control panel – developed expressly for the production home builder market. Promoted primarily through earned media and direct marketing, Intuity surpassed sales goals and firmly entrenched Legrand as a key technology supplier to production builders. 

In addition, Feintuch maintained a high profile for the Nuvo and On-Q brands at trade shows including the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), CEDIA and International Builders Show. 

As a result, Feintuch and Roher garnered more than 1,000 placements in AV, custom installation and homebuilding trade press, as well as key hits in mainstream media including the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Houston Chronicle, About.com, Electronic House, Sound & Vision, PCMag.com, Residential Systems, TWICE, Builder, CE Pro, rAVe Publications and Technology Integrator. We also drafted dozens of winning award entries for competitive programs sponsored by media and trade groups; awards included NewBay Best of Show (CEDIA), ISE Best of Show, Dealerscope Impact Awards, Home Builder Executive Innovation Awards, Technology Integrator EXCITE! Awards and TecHome Brilliance Awards.
