Doug Wright is a senior public relations strategist, writer and publicist with more than 20 years of industry experience, primarily working with New York City area agencies. He has represented leading companies in a variety of categories including consumer electronics, home automation, video production, financial services, software, marketing services, video games and musical instruments.

His client experience includes Yamaha, Sony, Sharp, Verizon Wireless, Monster Products, Legrand North America, Atlona, Klarna, Western Union, TC Group, NewTek, Pioneer, Turtle Beach, RCA/Thomson, AVAST Software, Nero, MarketingSherpa, Mapp Digital and Allen Interactions.

Wright’s writing portfolio includes all manner of press and marketing materials, including releases, pitches, bylines, Web content, brochure copy, messaging documents, Q&As and case studies. He conducts highly effective media outreach campaigns and is equally adept at preparing clients for press meetings and interviews. As a result, his clients have appeared regularly in mainstream media including Reuters, WIRED, Engadget, Gizmodo, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, MediaPost, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, PC Magazine, Mashable, About.com, as well as in key trade publications relevant to their industries.

Wright served as a vice president at Crenshaw Communications, an account supervisor at Wilson McHenry Company and a vice president at Roher Public Relations. He started his career at Dorf & Stanton Communications, where he participated in the launch of the Sharp Wizard—a revolutionary handheld electronic organizer that introduced the modern personal electronics category.

Wright graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications, where he majored in public relations. He currently lives in Leonia, N.J. with his wife Tristan, and two daughters, Holiday and Maile.
